DbLink has been central to that success and has now been redeveloped to become Dblink Online. This product is the utility that transfers data from corporate systems and updates the VM database system. It also has the ability to import and update VM using a custom file (e.g. commercial spreadsheet). DbLinkExtract is a server (command line) utility installed at the Council site that will automatically extract the data from corporate systems in much the same way as its predecessor has been doing and copy these extract files to a secure ftp site (nominated IP address only) for further processing. Transferred in compressed XML format the extract is scheduled using Windows Task Scheduler to automatically upload at regular times. DbLink Online is a new web based interface that enables the user to update the VM database with ALL or a selected uploaded file. The timing of the update is controlled by the user, this allows for appropriate management of the supplementary and revaluation process. Primarily used for collecting commercial business rental questionnaire information, and for the online lodgement of valuation enquiries, VM Online FormsT can be used for any type of Form. The feature that distinguishes this product is its ability to automatically update the database with the information you collect, without having to enter the data again. In the case of a rental questionnaire the submitted result does not override any valuation data but merely appends a new record in the Lease Information table for the valuers to analyse and for display in the enquiry module. Similarly the valuation enquiries form will append a new record into the objections table, ready to be reported, viewed and acted on. You have control over the design, colour, layout, logo, questions, answer format, validation, etc. Initially Munitec may setup some standard forms but then you have the ability to edit those forms, create new ones or delete existing forms. It enables the valuer to meet requirements set out in Valuation Best Practice. The maps enable spatial analysis and can be used to check the accuracy and consistency of valuations. There are two types of maps, maps required for VBP staged submissions and a data grid visualisation. The mapping is integrated in the VM Online product and is aimed to enhance existing valuations processes. It is intended to be used as an extra tool to assist in valuing and managing the various valuation requirements and processes. It enables the user to map any dataset of properties; the user can create any dataset they require and produce a map of those properties to quickly display and view their location.
